Villa Taglioni

One of the most important and majestic villas of Lake Como, Villa Maria Taglioni has had honorable owners. This villa was once owned by one of the most well-known artists of the 17th century, Maria Taglioni, who was considered the first great romantic ballerina.
The villa has been named also “Ca’ dell’Imperatore”, after it was Austrian Emperor Joseph II asylium in 1769, as he was caught into a tempest on the lake (still today there is a large
stone in the middle of the garden that recalls this event).
Later the villa was bought by the Usuelli Borsalino family, owners of Borsalino, the famous Italian hat company.
The prestigious garden that encloses the villa, rich with it’s rare and exotic vegetation, was ordered by painter Riccardo,
he too once the owner of the villa.
The villa was completely refurbished keeping an elegant and classical lake style and in some points it seems to spread out into the lake shores immersed in the sunset colors.
The charm you percieve if you look at the villa from the outside, becomes a true sensation once you cross the doorway inside; the luxurious environment comfortably welcomes the guest into a dimension of well-being and tranquility.
You can freely and happily walk around the magnificent park around the property and during the summer, you can enjoy the enchanting swimming-pool or invite friends to spend time on the villa terraces overlooking the lake.
